Obituary for Beverly Jo McNew

Beverly Jo McNew, age 73 years, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at her home with her family by her side. Beverly was born November 22, 1945, in Chambersburg, PA, daughter of the late Roy W. Sites and the late Julia Grapes Sites. Beverly was married to John McNew. Beverly worked as an airline attendant which sparked a life long love of travel. She was most happy and alive flying to the next destination. Beverly spent many summers working at Totem Pole Playhouse as box office manager and most recently as Hospitality Manager. She enjoyed welcoming the buses and groups of patrons and loved the staff, cast members, and crew with whom she worked.

Beverly is survived by her husband John McNew of Chambersburg, PA, one daughter Kristi Mattzela (husband Jim Mattzela) and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Faye Mourer of Chambersburg, PA and her brother Jim Sites of Bradenton, FL.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 20th, 2018 at 1pm at the VFW in Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Totem Pole Playhouse, Centre Volunteers in Medicine at http://www.cvim.net/ or Spiritrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice. The family has entrusted Beverly's care to Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, PA. Online condolences may be expressed at www.kelso-corneliusfuneralhome.com.
